Delete your VetReady account
This page explains how to delete your account in the VetReady app (for iPhone, Android and the web at vetready.ca), developed by VetReady. You can delete it yourself in the app, or ask us to do it using the form below. You don't need to be signed in.
Option 1: in the app
The fastest way. Your account is deleted straight away.
- Open the VetReady app and sign in.
- Tap the Me tab at the bottom of the screen.
- Tap Settings, then tap Delete account.
- Read the warning, type DELETE in the box, then tap Delete my account.
You'll be signed out and your account and data are removed immediately. If you uploaded a profile photo, we remove that file within 30 days.
Option 2: ask us to delete it
Can't get into the app, or signed up on the website? Send us the email address on your account. We'll email you from hello@vetready.ca to confirm the request came from you, then delete your account and data within 30 days of your request. You can also email hello@vetready.ca directly from the address on your account.
What we delete
- Your account, sign-in details and profile (name, email and the details you added).
- Your practice and exam history, answers, scores and Readiness score.
- Your flashcards and flashcard progress.
- Your AI tutor conversations and community chat messages.
- Your profile photo, if you uploaded one.
- Your notification settings, device tokens, sessions, usage and analytics events, contact-form messages, promotions and Pass Guarantee claims.
What we keep, and for how long
- Payment receipts. The law requires us to keep a record of each payment for tax and accounting. We keep the receipt (amount, date, plan) but remove your name and account from it, so it no longer identifies you. These de-identified records are kept for as long as Canadian tax law requires — generally six years after the end of the tax year of the payment.
- Backups. Copies of deleted data can remain in our encrypted backups for up to 30 more days, until those backups are automatically replaced. We never restore them to use your data again.
- Questions you flagged. If you reported a problem with a question, we keep the report so we can fix the question, but it's no longer linked to you.
Subscriptions
Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription bought through the App Store or Google Play — cancel it in your store account first, or you'll keep being charged. If you pay on vetready.ca, we cancel that subscription for you as part of the deletion.
How long it takes
- In the app: immediately.
- By request (form or email): within 30 days of your request.
- Encrypted backups: cleared within 30 days after that.
